Benny Feilhaber to Denmark?

According Steven Goff, Danish club AGF Aarhus are pursuing Derby County midfielder Benny Feilhaber. Feilhaber is currently in Beijing with the United States Olympic team, and is said to be aware of the interest being shown in him. Feilhaber joined Derby Country in August of 2007 from German side Hamburg. Feilhaber has found it hard to crack the first team after Derby fired manager Billy Davies and appointed Paul Jewell, managing only 10 appearances for the club. Derby seem open to a move as it would relieve them of Feilhaber’s salary. If Benny were to join AGF Aarhus, he would join fellow American Jeremiah White, AGF finished 10 in the Danish Superliga last season. Thoughts? Good move for Benny?

Steaua Bucharest eye Juan Toja

 Rating; 3(Likely)

toja_bio.jpgAccording to goal.com, Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest are expressing interest in FC Dallas playmaker Juan Toja. The 23 year old Columbian joined FC Dallas after spending the year on loan from River Plate. Toja has been capped at the U20 level for Columbia, and has been named to the MLS All Star team each year since his arrival.  Toja is said to be interested in the move as it could see him playing in either the Uefa Cup or Champions League tournaments. What do you think? How much should FC Dallas be asking for? Would it be a good move for Juan?

Carlos Ruiz to New York?

carlosruiz.jpgAccording to multiple sources, LA Galaxy forward Carlos Ruiz could be on his way to New York. The Galaxy have been looking to unload Ruiz, for some time, in an effort to free up salary cap space and New York are one of few MLS sides capable of taking on Ruiz’s salary. Juan Carlos Osorio has been quoted as saying that he is interested in a striker abroad, and one striker that is currently MLS based. Ruiz has shown to be a goal scorer in MLS although he hasn’t been able to achieve previous seasons form so far this season. The LA Galaxy are in New York to play the Red Bulls on Saturday, and could negotiate a trade. I think this could be a good short team answer for the Red Bulls, the main question is whether or not Ruiz can stay healthy for the remainder of the season and find his past form. What do you think?

Josh Wolff to Kansas City?

Rating: 3(Likely)

400px-josh_wolff.jpgAccording to multiple sources the Kansas City Wizards are targeting former Wizards and Fire forward Josh Wolff. Wolf made 80 appearances scoring 27 times between 2003 and 2006 with the Wizards before moving to 1860 Munich. At Munich Wolf scored 2 goals in 34 appearances and did not have his contract renewed. The 31 year old striker has 52 caps for the US National Team, and could be interested in a return to Kansas City. KC manager Curt Onalfo has coached Wolff during his time with the National Team and is very fond of the striker. The Wizards are one of the lowest scoring teams in MLS this season and have been very clear that they are looking to upgrade their attacking options. What do you think? Would return to KC be a good move for Josh Wolff? for the Wizards?

Edgar Davids to LA Galaxy

 Rating: 1(Not Likely)

davids.JPG

Edgar Davids has been training with the Galaxy over the past couple days while on vacation in Los Angeles during the offseason. Davids is a personal friend of Galaxy manager Ruud Gullit, and has 74 caps for the Netherlands. The 35 year old midfielder’s contract was not renewed by Ajax and is said to be searching for a club. Davids was close to joining FC Dallas last season but decided to rejoin his former club Ajax instead. Personally I’d say this move is unlikely, but knowing the Galaxy, it’s possible, although how they would fit him under the salary cap is beyond me.

Red Bulls to face FIFA sanctions?

Rating: 2(Possible)

mega2.jpgReports out of Puerto Rico suggest that Red Bull New York have told Forward Chris Megaloudis that he cannot join Puerto Rico for their World Cup qualifier 2nd leg June 14th against Honduras. RBNY cannot deny Megaloudis the ability to play for his national team under FIFA regulations, and could face potential sanctions. The 24 year old Striker joined RBNY this season after playing 3 years in USL, he has yet to make a league appearance. Megaloudis has 5 caps to date with Puerto Rico, who lost the first leg of the fixture to Honduras, by a 4-0 scoreline. After the departure of starlet Jozy Altidore, RBNY are short on striker, and this might be the reason behind the denial. We will keep you updated on this story, make sure to check back often. What do you think? Was RBNY right or wrong to deny megaloudis?  UPDATE: It looks like the situation between Megaloudis and RBNY has been worked out and he has been allowed to  join Puerto Rico. According to the Red Bull media guide he is listed as away on international duty, we’ll be able to confirm at the start of the game tonight, but it looks like everything has been worked out.

Captain America Claudio Reyna considering retirement

reyna.jpgMultiple sources out of New York are suggesting that Claudio “Captain America” Reyna is currently considering retirement after a recent injury. The defensive midfielder signed a Designated Player contract with the New York Red Bulls in 2007 and has made 27 appearances to date. The 34 year old has grown increasingly injury prone over the last few years, and following his latest injury, Red Bull staff admit they are unsure of when he might be able to return to action. Claudio has enjoyed a long successful career, starting at University of Virginia in 1991. After graduating Reyna moved to Germany and played 5 years with Bayer Leverkusen then Vfl Wolfsburg. Reyna then made the move to Rangers in Scotland becoming the first american to captain a european side, earning thenickname”Captain America”. After 6 years in England, playing with Sunderland and Manchester City, he made the return to his native jersey. Reyna had been a staple in the United States Mens National Team for most of his career, earning 112 caps and playing a major role captaining the side in a successful 2002 World Cup. It’s unfortunate to see a player of Reyna quality struggle with his health, it’s looks likely that his great career is coming to an end very soon, whether this season or at the end of this season when his contract with RBNY expires. What do you think? Should Reyna hang up the boots this season? Wait till the end of the season?
