The New England Revolution announced Monday that 26 year old defender Chase Hilgenbrinck has decided to retire from professional soccer and has entered a Catholic seminary in Maryland. As a result of Chase’s retirement Kheil Dube has been promoted a senior contract with the club. Hilgenbrick signed with New England in March of 2008, after four years playing professional in Chile. I can’t say any of us saw this coming, but it looks like Chase knows what he wants to do, and we wish him luck.
